Full Moon Folk

 

The next Full Moon Folk ~ Thursday 23rd September, 2010 (45 seats left)

Performers:

Nikki Madden – wonderful, quirky songwriter and an excellent guitarist

'Conspire' – (Lenny Marks, Richard Delaney and Peter Kennard) – magical spell-weavers!

Simon Watts (twice National Fiddle Champion – also teaches Fiddle and Violin in Leura)

Glen Skarratt (Country/Folk/Bluegrass guitarist who has played in many fine bands)

Dawn Egan – "A woman whose music is firmly grounded in the Celtic tradition" – ABC Music

Ryan Tremble – a delightful young man who lives for his music. A student of Nigel's.

James Audet – another really talented Year 12 student who I hope will play "Ocean".

Please RSVP to ensure a seat ~ we can seat about 45 people.

The concerts are free, although we ask for a $4 per person donation to help cover costs.

Children are welcome (although young ones may have to sit on cushions if it's crowded).

Please bring a plate and the beverage of your choice.

Time: 7:PM (music starts at 8:PM and ends at 10:30PM with an Interval at about 9:15PM)

Performers should note that we intend to document Full Moon Folk in a series of podcasts. We will only release material that has your consent and doesn't breach copyright laws.

Some of Nigel's more advanced students will occasionally be invited to perform at Full Moon Folk.

The moon blessed us with her silvery presence, and another night of music and friendship was shared by all – finishing at midnight with Simon Watts playing his fiddle and then leading us down the hall – Pied Piper fashion – and out into the street to gaze at the moon – brilliant night! Thank you one and all.

As the night was dedicated to the memory of Sam Griffin (one of my students), it was fitting that the music was of such a high standard. A special thank you to all the musicians and friends who made it such a beautiful night.

Full Moon Folk – 30th March 2010

Another great night of first-class music, performed by some of Australia's finest singer-songwriters and musicians at Redlands, Katoomba.

The second Blue Moon in three months was not visible due to a rainy, misty, mountains night – but about 40 folk turned up to share an evening of good music and cheer – one of the best nights yet! Thank you to all the musicians who cast a spell upon us, and to our friends for your warm company.

Full Moon Folk launch ~ 30th January 2010

Some of Australia's finest songwriters and musicians, plus a circle of friends, gathered in Katoomba, at the invitation of Nigel Foote and Dawn Egan, to launch Full Moon Folk.
